Tell everyone a little bit about yourself...
My name is Eliza Doolittle. I'm from Camden, London. I'm a singer and a song writer, I have brown curly hair and my favorite colour today is orange.
Favourite 3 albums of all time?
Destiny's Child - The writing's on the wall
Stevie Wonder - Songs in the key of life
Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
Those are just off the top of my head...I probably have about 10 more I could say.
iPhone or Blackberry?
Blackberry, I can't do the touch screen on the iphones.
Top 3 blogs?
Hmmm, will have to check the links for my 3 fave blogs...
Meat or veg?
I'm a vegetarian! So veg.
So, we do kicks. Kicks is what we do. What were your first pair?
My 1st pair of kicks were white air force ones with blue soles. I'm a sucker for nike. Blazers are my flavour now. *we'll see about that..*
With that in mind, (or maybe not!), who’s your style icon?
I love Carrie Bradshaw ! Her hair, her out going style...her body!!!
OK, turning to work… you have a chance to work with anyone you want, who? Why?
There are a ton, infact there are 5 tons of people I would love to work with but if I had to name just one person to work with I would say Stevie Wonder. He is my idol ! If I got to work with him I think I could retire!
Where do you find inspiration?
My inspirations are anything and anyone who gets me thinking. If my brain get's ticking then I just write down my ideas but this can be kick started by almost anything!
Now from work, to play: where can we find you in the summer time?
This summer I'm hoping to do lots of gigs and festivals and ofcourse, my album is coming out!
Actually let’s better that, if you had to go and live in another country FOREVER, where would you fly & why?
Well, I'm definitely London forever! Whenever I leave I just want to come back pretty much straight away...I'm a home girl. But I would love to visit South America...Brazil looks amazing ! Lots of lovely bums!
Can you speak any languages to get by?
The only language I can speak badly compared to most, is English! I feel like I'm still learning my own flippin language!
If you were stuck there, you couldn’t leave – what song would keep you going nuts?
One song that really annoys me cos I did a school performance to it and heard it over and over, plus it was all over the radio at the time is, can't get you out of my head by kylie. I can never get it out of my head!
Err, what kind of nuts?
Almonds of course.
And you’re still there, still stuck in the perfect abyss - what could you just not live without?
I couldn't live without my friends and family....they're coming with me!
OK, you’re out of solitary confinement, let’s have some fun - what's the first thing you notice on a bloke?
Eyes...very important!
And on fellow girls, what do you check out?
Eyes too! I like eyes...I think if someone has eyes for you, they might have eyes for you! Does that make sense?
Everyone’s got someone right – so who’s the person you find hot but you really shouldn't?
Hmmm probably my old english teacher at school...whoops.
OK, work done, play is over. That was quick. Finishing up, mature hats at the ready – looking back, if you could give a younger version of yourself advice, what would it be?
I'd tell myself that everybody's human so don't be intimidated by anyone or angry at anyone.
So finally, you may have already achieved a lot, you may have plenty more dreams to fulfill… but years down the line – how do you want your epitaph to read?
"Eliza Doolittle
She sang her heart out...
Literally!"
Oh what a way to die
You can catch Eliza's new song right here on the Jessie Mae blog itself. Her album's dropping this summer, but if you can't wait that long check out her debut single, 'Skinny Genes', hitting all good records stores, and some, out on Parlophone - March 29th...
